Holidays in Fuerteventura
If life is getting just a little too busy for you and you want to step off the merry go round for a while and just kick back and relax then there is no better place for you than Fuerteventura. As the quietest and most laid back of the Canary Islands, Fuerteventura is not suited for those who want to party the night away and sleep in the morning but is perfect for those who are desperately seeking a beach, a book and a break. Offering fantastic weather, a warm welcome and all the things a weary traveller could possibly require, Fuerteventura is a great holiday destination.
Fuerteventura - Theme Parks and Attractions
Well we have to start this by admitting to you all that Fuerteventura doesn’t have a theme park but that’s not to say it doesn’t offer up many an attraction. For those culture vultures amongst you there are two things that may be of interest. The first is the American Star, a ship wreck right there for the viewing which can be viewed in detail by boat excursion. Be warned it can look a little weary but it’s definitely something you don’t get to see every day. The other thing you may want to put on your list of things to see is the oldest cave in the Canary Islands, which at a million years old, may just have the edge on Bruce Forsyth, but is perfect for those holiday snaps, wouldn’t want everyone to thin you spent your whole holiday on the beach now would you? More common place days but no less exciting can be found in Fuerteventura in the way of relaxing days spent on the beach, complete with exciting water sports, a round of golf on the links, horse riding, fishing or just a good old credit card bashing shopping trip. Either way there are plenty of things to do in Fuerteventura which will keep everyone happy and fulfilled during their holiday.
Fuerteventura - Resort Guides
Caleta de Fuste is perhaps the most relaxing resort in Fuerteventura and therefore perfect for you sun seekers who long for nothing more than a stretch of beach and a good book. The area does boast a number of restaurants offering traditional and international food so there’s more than enough choice to keep everyone happy. The resort centre also offers a few shops, not enough to make the bank manager wince but certainly enough for you to be worrying about how you’re going to fit it all in your suitcase. The bars are warm and friendly, where you can either sit inside in the shade or grab a place outside and indulge in a touch of people watching.
Corralejo is on the other end of the spectrum to Caleta de Fuste and has a busier atmosphere, but rest assured it still pales in comparison to Magalluf! This beautiful resort offers sand aplenty whether you choose the busier mile long stretches or the more secluded coves you’ll find a space just perfect for you and your needs. Corralejo offers its valued guests a selection of shops to pick up souvenirs or more suntan lotion, bars for that much needed refreshing drink and cafes where you can enjoy an indulgent midday meal. In the evenings visitors can settle down in a restaurant for a taste of traditional Canarian cuisine and once full head over to one of the discos or lively bars in this area which will offer a cold beverage, warm nights and a dance floor where you can let loose for a little while.
Costa Calma on the east side of Fuerteventura is the perfect place to relax. Visitors can pick a spot on the beach and laze the day away, while the world goes on around them. When sun bathing gets tiresome, Costa Calma boasts a small commercial centre featuring a few shops and bars to enjoy but primarily this is a place for rest and recharging of batteries. If you just want to spend the days enjoying the company of your nearest and dearest with gorgeous weather, great food and not much else then this is the place for you.
